Montceau-les-Mines begins structural investigation at Parvis Carnot

Authorities in Montceau-les-Mines have initiated a structural investigation of the Parvis Carnot to assess the condition of the area beneath the square. The operation aims to gather technical data to determine necessary future actions.

The process began with a reconnaissance and marking phase on October 1. Starting October 5, technicians will perform two specific openings in the surface coating to examine the structure down to the upper floor level of the underground garages. During these specific interventions, pedestrian traffic on the square will be temporarily interrupted, though security measures and detour routes will be established to facilitate movement.

The investigation is being conducted in coordination with Habellis, which is providing access to the underground garages to complement the surface observations. Restoration of the square is currently scheduled to take place around October 15.
