Montceau-les-Mines faces political tension and public service concerns

Political tensions and concerns regarding public services are surfacing in Montceau-les-Mines. Arnaud Sanvert, representing the ‘Relève-toi Montceau’ list, has called for an end to ‘sterile’ local political debates. He emphasized a commitment to stability, responsibility, and concrete action to revitalize the commune, regardless of the outcome of ongoing legal appeals regarding municipal elections.

Simultaneously, the French Communist Party (PCF) section of the mining basin has raised alarms regarding the state of local public services, specifically the railway station and the Jean Bouveri Hospital. The PCF expressed concern over the lack of public mobilization to support healthcare workers and the need for modern equipment and sufficient staffing. The party also advocated for the hospital to retain its historical name, ‘Centre hospitalier Jean Bouveri’, in respect to its memory.
