Montceau-les-Mines: Multiple vehicles set on fire in Plessis district

On the night of Thursday, August 27, multiple vehicles were set on fire in the Plessis district of Montceau-les-Mines. The incidents began shortly before 11:00 PM on Rue de la Résistance, where two parked cars were consumed by flames, causing tires and windshields to explode. A third vehicle was later set ablaze near the Joséphine Baker school around 11:30 PM.

Witnesses reported hearing shouts and noises resembling firecrackers prior to the fires. Local authorities, including firefighters and police reinforced by the Chalon-sur-Saône anti-crime brigade, responded to the scene. Mayor Isabelle Louis addressed the incidents, characterizing them as instances of ‘urban violence.’
