Montceau-les-Mines political group rebrands as La Vigie

The political collective Cap 2026, which previously ran as ‘Montceau en commun’ in the municipal elections, has announced its rebranding as ‘La Vigie’. Following their elimination in the first round of elections, the group had initially stepped back to observe local governance but has now decided to resume an active role in monitoring the municipality.

Spokespersons Catherine Ravier and Stéphane Brun expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration, ‘Montceau Autrement’. They cited a lack of transparency regarding municipal finances, the disappearance of archives, and the resignation of first deputy Eric Commeau. The group also raised concerns regarding the management of public services, such as the closure of the station ticket office, and the lack of clarity surrounding a proposed crematorium project.
