Monte Erice Hillclimb sets record with 260 registered drivers

The 2026 Monte Erice Hillclimb has reached a record level of participation, with 260 crews officially registered for the event organized by the Automobile Club Trapani. The entry list includes 153 modern vehicles and 107 historic cars. The number of historic entries marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in the history of the competition that this category has exceeded 100 participants, surpassing the previous record of 97.

The race is a key event in the Italian motorsport calendar, serving as a valid competition for the Campionato Italiano Velocità Salita Autostoriche (CIVSA), the Campionato Italiano Velocità della Montagna (CIVM), and the Campionato Italiano Velocità Salita Autoclassiche (CIVSAC).

The 5.7-kilometer track features a 410-meter elevation gain from the base to the summit of Erice. Giovanni Pellegrino, president of the Automobile Club Trapani, expressed pride in the numbers, stating they reward the team's hard work and demonstrate the race's status as a national reference point for hillclimb racing.
