Monte Faito hosts international documentary festival and Angel pilgrimage

The 19th edition of the Faito Doc Festival took place on Monte Faito from July 18‑26, 2026, showcasing over 50 documentaries from more than 20 countries. The International Jury awarded the Grand Prix to the film “Al Oeste, en Zapata,” with additional prizes for short and feature films, while the public prize went to “Mamá.” The event featured the mayor of Vico Equense, Giuseppe Aiello, and highlighted themes of community, migration, human rights and environmental issues.

Following the festival, Monte Faito will host the “Cammino dell’Angelo” pilgrimage from July 31 to August 2, 2026. Organized by the Santuario di San Michele Arcangelo, the Archdiocese of Sorrento‑Castellammare di Stabia and the municipalities of Vico Equense and Pimonte, the trek includes a high‑altitude conference titled “Magnifica Humanitas” with speakers Archbishop Francesco Alfano, engineer Giuseppe Irace and Professor Luigi Tufano. Participants will receive a plenary indulgence, attend Masses, and enjoy musical performances, intertwining spiritual reflection with cultural engagement.
