Monte Inici search continues for missing man after vehicle found

Search operations continue for Juris Sviridovs, a 35-year-old man of Russian origin residing in Latvia, who has been missing for several days in the Monte Inici area near Castellammare del Golfo, Italy.

Rescuers located Sviridovs' abandoned Kia Sorento in the Macchie Nere area at an altitude of approximately 800 to 850 meters. The vehicle was found on a difficult-to-reach dead-end road. Inside the SUV, authorities recovered personal documents, photographs, clothing, and items that may belong to his children, but no sign of the man was found.

The search is being coordinated by the Prefecture of Trapani and involves the fire brigade, forest rangers, civil protection, the Alpine Club (CAI), and canine units. Drones are also being deployed to navigate the rugged, labyrinthine terrain of Monte Inici. Investigators are attempting to reconstruct his movements from the time he arrived in Castellammare to his disappearance, while search teams continue to comb the dense woods and steep paths.
