Monte Isola featured in The Guardian as an authentic travel destination

The British newspaper The Guardian has published a reportage highlighting Monte Isola and the Lake Iseo region in Italy. Following a previous feature describing Brescia as a ‘hidden gem’, journalist Suzy Pope explored the area, characterizing it as an authentic and picturesque destination that is less crowded than Lake Como or Lake Garda.

As Europe’s largest inhabited lake island, Monte Isola is noted for its slow pace of life and minimal vehicle presence. The report highlights that only three people on the island are authorized to own a car: the priest, the doctor, and the mayor. The itinerary focused on traditional crafts, such as net-making, and local gastronomy, including dried sardines with polenta and Franciacorta wine.

Visit Brescia noted that this international press coverage demonstrates interest in the diverse tourism offerings of the Brescia province, ranging from urban culture to lakeside landscapes and culinary excellence.
