Monte Morello: Unauthorized structures seized in protected area
The Carabinieri Forestali of Ceppeto have seized an unauthorized wooden structure in the Podere Solatio area of Monte Morello, located within the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino. The inspection revealed a 16-square-meter wooden structure, along with several other constructions including a concrete staircase, a fence, a raised platform for a wooden hut, and an above-ground swimming pool.
The site is a highly protected natural and landscape area, designated as the “Monte Morello” Natura 2000 site and subject to landscape and hydrogeological constraints. Investigations determined that the owner carried out the works directly without requesting any necessary building permits or authorizations.
As a result of these violations, the wooden structure has been subject to preventive criminal seizure. Additionally, the authorities noted the absence of the required regional Impact Assessment (VINCA), leading to an administrative fine of 3,000 euros.
