Authorities in La Pampa, Argentina, have dismantled a clandestine slaughterhouse operating in Monte Nievas. The operation, involving the Special Operations Group (GEO), Rural Security, and Senasa, resulted in the seizure of 1,250 kilograms of meat lacking sanitary controls and traceability.

Investigators discovered a facility adapted for slaughtering and processing meat within railway warehouses. The site included killing areas, processing rooms, cold storage, and freezers. Authorities also seized an apocryphal stamp from a Buenos Aires slaughterhouse used to mark carcasses and a sales ledger. Six individuals have been charged in connection with the operation.

In a related development, the legal representative for the Mostaza family, owners of a local butchery, denied allegations of cattle theft following a raid at their Monte Nievas premises. The lawyer stated that the seized meat was intended for personal consumption and that the business's commercial stock is sourced from authorized frigoríficos. The investigation follows previous incidents where meat was intercepted in transport due to a lack of proper traceability documentation.
