Italy reports series of road accidents and traffic-related crimes
Various road-related incidents and criminal activities have been reported across Italy. In Monte San Giusto, a 48-year-old man crashed into a private building after losing control of his vehicle; testing revealed a blood alcohol level exceeding seven times the legal limit.
In Sant’Arpino, a 29-year-old woman was identified via surveillance footage after striking two minors with a rental car and fleeing the scene without providing aid. Meanwhile, in Capanne, an 89-year-old entrepreneur died after being struck by a vehicle.
Other notable incidents include the destruction of a speed camera in Cecina via explosives, causing approximately 100,000 euros in damage, and a high-speed chase in Monza involving a stolen scooter and drug possession. In Cattolica Eraclea, a driver without a license or insurance fled a financial police checkpoint, resulting in 6,000 euros in fines. Additionally, residents in Manfredonia have raised alarms regarding dangerous, continuous motorcycle racing on local streets.
