Posorja military operation uncovers criminal site and dismembered body

Ecuadorian military forces conducted a tactical operation in the Quito neighborhood of Posorja, Guayas, uncovering a site used by criminal organizations to destroy evidence. The location, referred to by gangs as ‘La cocina’ (The Kitchen), was reportedly used to incinerate vehicles and tools associated with killings, robberies, and kidnappings to prevent ballistic and vehicular tracking.

During the incursion, which was supported by aerial drone surveillance, military personnel were met with gunfire from suspects. The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals suspected of belonging to criminal structures, including potential links to factions of ‘Los Lobos’.

At the scene, authorities discovered a recently dismembered human body and several incinerated vehicles, including five motorcycles and one mototaxi. Investigators also recovered a machete and a shovel with apparent bloodstains. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat organized crime in the Guayas region.
