Montebello Jonico to host inaugural Street Food competition

The Pro Loco Montebello is launching the first edition of ‘Street Food delle Borgate’, a culinary event designed to showcase the unique identities and recipes of eight local hamlets. The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, starting at 20:30 at the Parco Lineare in Saline Joniche, within the municipality of Montebello Jonico.

The participating hamlets include Trunca, Montebello, Masella, Stinò, S’Elia/Tegani, Saline, Rocca, and Riace. Each will present its own specialties in a competition to be crowned the ‘queen of Street Food’. Attendees will play a decisive role in the contest by tasting the various offerings and voting for their favorite dish.

Beyond the competition, the initiative aims to foster community spirit, connect the different hamlets, and promote local traditions and products through a shared cultural experience.
