Pisa to hold ceremonies for 82nd anniversary of city's Liberation

The city of Pisa will hold a series of events on September 2 to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of its Liberation. Organized by the Municipality of Pisa with the participation of the Province, the program includes tributes to former mayors who served during the period of liberation and reconstruction.

Ceremonies will include wreath-laying at various cemeteries and the Camposanto Monumentale, a religious service in the Cathedral, and a mass at the Church of Santa Caterina di Alessandria. The official commemoration will take place at the Logge di Banchi, featuring speeches from Mayor Michele Conti, the President of the Province of Pisa Massimiliano Angori, the US Consul General in Florence Joseph Tordella, and ANPI representative Bruno Possenti.

Additional activities include a concert by the Società Filarmonica Pisana and a special night opening of the Camposanto Monumentale with free admission.
