Montecatone Institute hosts exhibition honoring Alex Zanardi
The Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute in Imola is hosting a photographic exhibition titled ‘ALEX ZANARDI #1 DI NOI’ to honor the life and legacy of the late former racing driver and Paralympic champion. The exhibition, which runs from September 7 to October 31, traces Zanardi’s journey from his 2001 racing accident—which resulted in the amputation of both legs—to his subsequent success in para-cycling and his advocacy for disability inclusion through sport.
Organized by the Montecatone Foundation in collaboration with the Zanardi family and the sports association Obiettivo 3, the event coincides with the 25th anniversary of his accident on September 15, 2001. The exhibition highlights the long-standing relationship between Zanardi and the institute, centered on a shared vision of using physical activity as a tool for rehabilitation, autonomy, and social participation for people with disabilities.
