Montecito Fiesta Inaugural Celebration Draws 500+ Attendees

The first Old Spanish Days Fiesta in Montecito took place on Coast Village Road, attracting more than 500 residents and visitors. The free evening featured folklórico dancers, flamenco performances, mariachi music, a ceremonial ribbon‑cutting and a pedestrian‑friendly festival atmosphere. Organizers highlighted the event as the start of an annual tradition, with El Presidente Colin Hayward and treasurer David Bolton leading the planning and execution. Local merchants reported full restaurants and a boost to the community.

Later in the week, Fiesta Week opened with La Recepción del Presidente at the historic Santa Barbara Club garden patio. Colin Hayward and his wife Monica welcomed guests, and performances included Spirit of Fiesta Jenna Ramirez, junior spirit Penny Hernandez, and a duet by Ryan Zermeño and Georgey Taupin. The reception concluded with a group dance and a Fin de Fiesta finale. Fiesta activities run from August 5‑9, 2026.
