Montecristo launches Fragata travel humidor for duty-free markets

Montecristo has introduced the Montecristo Fragata, a new travel humidor designed specifically for the duty-free and travel-retail markets. Unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes, the product is intended for travelers moving between destinations.

The humidor contains 20 handcrafted Habanos in a new Duke format, measuring 54 x 40 mm. These cigars are made with long filler using tobacco leaves sourced from the Vuelta Abajo area in Cuba’s Pinar del Río region. The blend is described as having a medium to strong profile, featuring notes of wood, smoke, leather, and light coffee.

The name ‘Fragata’ refers to a frigate, drawing a literary connection to the themes of escape and adventure found in Alexandre Dumas’ ‘The Count of Monte Cristo,’ which inspired the Montecristo brand name.
