Montegranaro begins 1.2 million euro cemetery expansion
Construction has officially begun on the expansion of the municipal cemetery in Montegranaro. Mayor Endrio Ubaldi announced that the project involves the creation of 340 additional burial plots at a total cost of 1.2 million euros.
Following the contract signing on September 21, the winning contractor has opened the site. The project is scheduled for completion by July 21, 2027, though the mayor expressed confidence that work could be finished by next summer. To address immediate demand, the administration recently completed 16 prefabricated plots in the new section of the cemetery.
In addition to the expansion, redevelopment work will begin on the monumental cemetery section, specifically focusing on the loggia. This part of the project is funded by the post-earthquake reconstruction commissioner and managed by the Special Reconstruction Office.
