Italy law enforcement conducts widespread operations against crime
Italian law enforcement agencies have conducted various operations across the country targeting diverse criminal activities. In Milan, a large-scale inter-agency operation near Rogoredo and San Donato resulted in over 1,300 identifications, four arrests for drug dealing, and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics.
In other regions, authorities have addressed specific crimes: in Macerata, two individuals were apprehended for a ‘fake policeman’ scam targeting elderly women, recovering approximately 10,000 euros in stolen assets. In Palermo, Carabinieri recovered cultural heritage items valued at 400,000 euros. Additionally, a major fraud involving organic rice in Pavia has been identified, with illicit profits estimated at 10 million euros.
Personnel changes within the Carabinieri were also noted, including the appointment of Colonel Daniele Credidio in Riccione and Colonel Mansueto Cosentino in Monza. Other security measures included the issuance of bans on urban areas following violent brawls in Bagnara Calabra and various drug-related arrests in Naples and Vigevano.
