Montemorelos authorities investigate family homicide and suicide

Authorities in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, are investigating a mass killing involving five deaths. Preliminary findings suggest that Cinthia Abigail Tamez Rivera shot her partner, Leodegario Moya Garza, and their three children—Bruno, Christian, and Gustavo—before taking her own life.

According to Prosecutor Javier Flores Saldívar, the incident occurred between the night of September 29 and the early hours of September 30. Investigators believe a dispute between the couple may have triggered the violence. Evidence of alcohol consumption was found at the scene, though officials have not confirmed if it was a determining factor.

A 14-year-old boy, who was staying at the residence, survived the attack by hiding. He was reportedly the son of a former partner of Tamez Rivera.
