Montenegrin Army rescues Belgian citizen from Vrmac cliff

A Belgian citizen was rescued from a cliff in the Vrmac area near Kotor after becoming stranded on dangerous terrain. The rescue operation was conducted in the early morning hours by the Kotor Rescue and Protection Service in coordination with the Montenegrin Army.

Rescuers initially used drones to locate the individual and maintained constant telephone contact with him. While ground teams attempted to reach the man on foot during the night, the terrain was deemed too hazardous for rescuers to descend safely. Consequently, aerial assistance was requested.

The Montenegrin Ministry of Defense reported that the operation utilized a Bell 412 helicopter equipped with a side hoist and an advanced rock-securing system to safely extract the man from the inaccessible location. Following the evacuation, the individual was handed over to the Kotor Rescue and Protection Service for further processing. Defense Minister Dragan Krapović commended the military's professionalism and its readiness to support civil institutions in life-threatening situations.
