Montenegrin athletes reach karate final as Vujović leaves Qatar handball

In sports news, Montenegrin junior karateka Vuk Vučinić has advanced to the final of the World Championships in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. Competing in the over 76 kg category, Vučinić will face Ukraine’s Vladislav Rudenko for the gold medal. Additionally, Katarina Đukić will compete for a bronze medal in the under 59 kg category against Colombia’s Jose Maria Rendon Rave.

In handball, veteran coach Veselin Vujović has announced his departure from the Qatar national team. Despite leading the team to a silver medal at the Asian Games, Vujović stated he declined a contract offer from the Qatar Handball Association because it only extended until the end of the World Championship in January. He expressed a desire to lead the team through the Olympic qualifying process, but ultimately decided to step down now rather than risk further losses during the upcoming tournament.
