Montenegrin film monograph presented at Herceg Novi Film Festival

The monograph ‘Sovereign View: Two Decades of Montenegrin Cinematography (2006–2026)’ was presented at the 39th Herceg Novi Montenegro Film Festival. Published by the Film Center of Montenegro (FCCG), the work provides the first comprehensive overview of the development of Montenegrin film following the country's independence.

During the presentation, Sanja Jovanović, head of programming policy and planning at the FCCG, noted that the establishment of the Film Center was a turning point for the industry. She stated that the center provided the necessary budget, continuity, and networking opportunities with both the region and Europe. The monograph covers the evolution of the industry from a series of incidents into a structured field involving strategic planning, investment in younger generations, and improved film culture.

Contributors to the event included journalists, critics, and screenwriters who discussed the visibility of Montenegrin films and the importance of domestic audience support. The publication is available in three languages.
