Montenegrin handball clubs face European exits

Montenegrin handball clubs faced significant setbacks in European competitions. In the EHF Champions League, OTP group Budućnost suffered a 27:22 defeat against Brest in Podgorica. This marks the team's third consecutive loss following previous defeats against Ferencváros and CSM București. Despite moments of parity, technical errors allowed Brest to secure a decisive lead in the second half.

In the EHF European Cup, both Sutjeska and Budvanska rivijera were eliminated in the first round. Sutjeska lost 34:31 to Luxembourg's Berchem, failing to overcome an early deficit. Budvanska rivijera secured a narrow 25:24 victory over Greece's Drama, but the result was insufficient to overturn an eight-goal deficit from their first match. Lovćen remains Montenegro's sole representative in the third-ranked EHF competition, set to begin play in the second round.
