Montenegrin historical books promoted in Cetinje and Podgorica

Two new historical works focusing on Montenegrin heritage were recently presented in Cetinje and Podgorica.

In Cetinje, the book ‘Krivokapići kroz vjekove’ (The Krivokapić Family Through the Ages), authored by Milorad Mišo Stevanov Krivokapić, Ratko Jovanov Krivokapić, and Radovan Mirkov Krivokapić, was introduced. The work documents the history of the Krivokapić lineage and its contributions to Montenegrin statehood. Reviewer Dr. Srđa Martinović noted the book relies on verifiable data to chronicle the family's involvement in defending the homeland, noting members of the clan traveled from locations as distant as Argentina, the United States, and Australia to serve.

In Podgorica, historian Veselin Konjević promoted his book ‘Pljevlja u poznom srednjem vijeku’ (Pljevlja in the Late Middle Ages), published by Matica crnogorska. The book examines the social environment of the Pljevlja region during the Middle Ages. Konjević details how the area transitioned through various administrative formations, including the Kingdom of Duklja, the medieval Serbian state, the Bosnian Kingdom, and the Ottoman Empire. The research highlights Pljevlja's role as a trade hub on caravan routes connecting the Adriatic coast, specifically Dubrovnik, to the mainland.
