Milorad Dodik praises war criminals and declares himself a nationalist

During a ceremony in Pale marking the 35th anniversary of the founding of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik praised convicted war criminals Radovan Karadžić, Momčilo Krajišnik, and Ratko Mladić. Dodik claimed these individuals were unjustly imprisoned and described them as giants of the national struggle.

Dodik also declared, “I am a nationalist, let me tell you right now. I wasn't like that, now I am,” while asserting that there is no possibility of agreement with Bosniaks, whom he referred to as Muslims. He warned of the threat of Islamization in Europe and stated that Republika Srpska is “certainly not genocidal.”

The event was attended by Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić and the ambassadors of Serbia and Russia to Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a separate development, reports indicate Dodik is planning a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with American lobbyists engaged to strengthen ties with the Trump administration.
