Montenegrin municipalities pass local statutes and cultural decrees

The Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly held its 11th regular session, during which councilors approved several amendments to the statutes of various local companies. These include 'Vodovod i kanalizacija', 'Čistoća', 'Komunalno stambeno', 'Parking servis', and the 'Sportski centar Igalo', among others. Additionally, the assembly adopted a program to supplement the spatial development plan for 2026 and discussed the legal status of the Prevlaka peninsula, proposing that the Montenegrin government consider appointing a representative from Herceg Novi to the commission for state border demarcation.

In Bijelo Polje, the local parliament voted 19 to 2 to establish the 'Avdo Međedović' public institution. Named after the renowned Balkan literary figure, the institution aims to strengthen the regional cultural system and preserve local identity. Officials noted that the establishment of this legal entity will complement existing cultural institutions and provide a foundation for professional artistic production and innovation in the city.
