Montenegrin municipalities propose varying 2027 water utility rates
Municipalities in Montenegro are proposing different utility price structures for 2027 regarding water supply and wastewater disposal.
In Bar, the Municipal Assembly has approved a proposal to lower water utility prices for 2027 compared to 2026. According to Mladen Đuričić, director of Vodovod i kanalizacija Bar, the plan includes reductions across all segments. Most notably, wastewater disposal costs are expected to decrease significantly, with the variable component dropping by 16.27% and the fixed component by 18.56%. Water supply tariffs are also projected to decrease by between 0.50% and 3.64%.
In Danilovgrad, the proposed 2027 rates present a mixed outcome for consumers. While water supply costs are set to decrease slightly—with the fixed part dropping to 1.2132 euros per month and the variable part to 0.7308 euros per cubic meter—wastewater disposal costs are slated to rise. The fixed component for wastewater is proposed to increase by approximately 10.49 cents, and the variable component is expected to rise by 8.58 cents per cubic meter.
