Montenegrin Police Director meets EU project team on regional security
Lazar Šćepanović, Director of the Montenegrin Police Administration, met with Filip Ganglof, leader of the European Union project ‘Strengthening the Resilience of Critical Entities and the Protection of Public Spaces and Cyberspace from Security Threats in the Western Balkans’ (WB CEPS).
The meeting focused on the Montenegrin Police Administration’s active participation in project activities, specifically regarding the analysis and recognition of needs for protecting public spaces. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation and the transition into the second phase of the project, titled ‘Strengthening the Protection of Public Spaces and Critical Infrastructure in the Western Balkans 2026–2029’ (WB CIPS), which is funded by the EU.
The first phase of the project provided significant support to Montenegro through professional training and the exchange of best practices with EU member states. The project maintains a regional dimension, involving partner institutions across the Western Balkans to ensure alignment with EU standards and enhanced capacity in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.
