Serbia Ministry of Internal Affairs recruits 1,000 police trainees

The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced a recruitment competition for 1,000 trainees to attend the Center for Basic Police Training (COPO) in Sremska Kamenica. Successful trainees will be trained for roles as uniformed police officers, traffic police specializing in accident investigation, and border police.

Distribution of positions varies across police administrations, with the largest allocation of 360 spots in Belgrade. Other significant numbers include Šabac, Novi Sad, and various regional administrations such as Valjevo, Zrenjanin, and Niš.

Applicants must be Serbian citizens aged 18 to 30 with at least one year of continuous residence in Serbia and the specific organizational unit. Requirements include a four-year secondary education, a valid Category B driver's license (or proof of ongoing training), and meeting health, psychological, and physical standards. The selection process involves medical examinations and a qualifying exam covering language skills, psychology, motor skills, and an interview.
