Montenegrin Prime Minister supports racehorse Robchen in pursuit of Triple Crown
Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has issued a message of support in fluent Japanese for the racehorse Robchen, who is competing in the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) on October 25 at Kyoto Racecourse. The horse is attempting to become only the ninth horse in history to achieve the Japanese Triple Crown.
The connection stems from the horse's name, which is derived from a prominent mountain in Montenegro. Prime Minister Spajić, who previously studied at Saitama University in Japan as a government scholarship student, noted that the horse's success serves as a symbol of the deepening bonds between Montenegro and Japan.
Robchen enters the race following a narrow victory in the GII Kobe Shimbun Hai. Despite facing tactical disadvantages during that race, analysts have praised the horse's resilience and strength, viewing its performance as a positive indicator for the upcoming Triple Crown attempt.
