Montenegrin prosecutors charge four in 2020 attempted murder case

The Special State Prosecution (SDT) has launched criminal proceedings against several individuals suspected of involvement in a criminal organization and an attempted murder in January 2020.

Radosav and Saša Stanišić are accused of attempting to kill Igor Krstović, a member of the Skaljari clan of the Balkan narcotics cartel, in Zeta. The prosecution alleges the attack was carried out on orders from Radoje Živković Žuti and Milan Vujotić. During the incident, at least 28 projectiles were fired at Krstović's vehicle, causing life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, Raško and Radmila Džankić are suspected of aiding the perpetrators by hiding them in their household and assisting their transport across the border out of Montenegro.

Following their hearing before an investigation judge at the High Court in Podgorica, Radosav Stanišić, Saša Stanišić, Raško Džankić, and Radmila Džankić were ordered into detention for 30 days. Investigators reportedly identified the suspects through messages obtained from the Sky encrypted communication application.
