Podgorica establishes new agency to overhaul urban planning

Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović met with Andrija Babović, the prosecutor of the newly established Agency for the Development of Local Planning Documents, to discuss the agency's role in shaping the city's future. The mayor emphasized that the agency is a critical institution for creating a more sustainable and high-quality urban space.

Mujović noted that previous spatial planning efforts were inadequate, citing specific documents like DUP Zabjelo 8 and Gorica C as examples of poor planning that negatively impact citizens' living conditions. The agency's upcoming priorities include the development of the Spatial-Urban Plan (PUP) for Podgorica, as well as several lower-level documents such as DUP Tološi 2, Sadine, and Donja Gorica. The City Assembly is scheduled to review the agency's work plan on September 16.
