Montenegro and Italy discuss strengthening economic and investment ties

Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj met with the Italian Ambassador to Montenegro, Laura Egoli, to discuss strengthening bilateral economic ties. The discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment, attracting new capital, and providing continued support for existing investments.

Both parties emphasized the importance of economic connectivity and identified several sectors for intensified cooperation, including energy, infrastructure, tourism, sustainable development, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Ambassador Egoli acknowledged Montenegro’s progress toward European integration, specifically noting Đeljošaj’s role in closing seven negotiation chapters. Montenegro reaffirmed its commitment to the European path, citing Italy’s experience and support as significant to its integration process.
