Montenegro and Jordan sign first bilateral agreements

Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović concluded an official visit to Jordan by signing the first bilateral agreements between the two nations since diplomatic relations were established 16 years ago.

The signed documents include a Memorandum of Understanding between the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Jordanian Institute of Diplomacy, as well as an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports. Ibrahimović also met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi to discuss intensifying political dialogue and strengthening institutional ties.

During the visit, Ibrahimović expressed Montenegro’s continued support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). He emphasized the importance of protecting Palestinian refugees and humanitarian personnel, particularly in the Gaza Strip. Ibrahimović noted that Montenegro provided $40,000 in support to UNRWA in 2023 and an additional $10,000 in 2024, stressing that predictable funding is essential for the agency’s mandate.
