Montenegro and Sweden discuss economic cooperation and investment

Montenegrin Finance Minister Novica Vuković met with Sweden’s Ambassador to Montenegro, Charlotte Samelin, and representatives of the Swedish business community to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. The discussions focused on economic cooperation, new technologies, and Montenegro’s path toward European Union membership.

Minister Vuković highlighted that Swedish expertise could support Montenegro’s ongoing reforms, particularly in areas such as digitalization and modernizing the financial system to increase transparency. He identified four pillars for his ministry: restoring investor confidence, accelerating EU integration, eliminating the informal economy, and strengthening citizen standards.

Ambassador Samelin expressed Sweden’s readiness to support Montenegro’s reform processes. The meeting also addressed opportunities for attracting new Swedish investments and implementing technological solutions in the banking and financial services sectors.
