Montenegro and US discuss defense cooperation and regional stability

Montenegrin Defense Minister Dragan Krapović met with U.S. Congresswoman Claudia Tenney to discuss security cooperation and the stability of the Western Balkans. During the meeting, Tenney emphasized the importance the United States places on cooperation with Montenegro and the regional security landscape.

Tenney noted that current geopolitical shifts require stronger alliances and increased defense spending among allies to maintain collective security and transatlantic relations. Krapović reaffirmed Montenegro’s commitment to its European goals and its role as a reliable NATO ally. He highlighted that Montenegro is utilizing defense funds to modernize the capabilities of the Montenegrin Armed Forces through various defense projects supported by the United States.
