Montenegro beach chair prices rise to €12–€25 as summer season starts
Tourists arriving on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast are encountering higher fees for beach amenities. Operators on beaches such as Velika Plaža charge €12 for a single lounge chair and €25 for a two‑person umbrella set, while a double‑chair parasol costs €18, similar to last year. The price structure reflects broader inflation pressures, with operators saying they must keep fees roughly at previous levels to avoid further hikes.
State agency JP Morsko dobro projects roughly €32 million in revenue from beach leases this year and expects the fair‑tender system to boost public coffers to €120 million over four years. Operators also point to infrastructure shortfalls—limited parking, road access, and greenery—as ongoing challenges that the agency plans to address with increased investment.
The higher costs have prompted mixed reactions from visitors, who compare the rates unfavorably with destinations such as Turkey or Spain, where a full board package can be secured for about €30 per day.
