Montenegro celebrates cultural heritage through comic and film
Montenegro is marking significant cultural milestones through the presentation of the bilingual comic book ‘Durbin vremena’ (Time's Durbin) and the screening of the documentary ‘Spomenik revolucije’ (Monument of Revolution).
Presented at the Ministry of Culture and Media in Cetinje, the comic book ‘Durbin vremena’ commemorates twenty years of Montenegrin independence. The work, illustrated by Marcello Mandantini and based on the poetry of Maria Teresa Albano, features Queen Jelena and Victor Emmanuel observing modern Montenegro from a historical perspective. The event was organized by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the Montenegrin Ministry of Culture and Media and the Old Royal Capital Cetinje.
In observance of World Day for Audio-Visual Heritage, the Montenegrin Cinematheque is hosting a screening of Mladen Ivanović’s documentary ‘Spomenik revolucije’. The film examines the Monument to the Uprising of the People of Banija and Kordun, documenting its gradual decay. The project is a Croatian-Montenegrin production involving the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and Videa Production.
