Montenegro considering Eurovision Young Musicians debut in 2028

The Montenegrin national broadcaster, RTCG, is assessing the possibility of participating in the Eurovision Young Musicians competition, with a potential debut targeted for 2028.

While RTCG initially expressed interest in the 2027 edition scheduled to take place in Liepāja, Latvia, the twelve available participation slots for that year have already been filled. Consequently, the broadcaster is now looking toward the 2028 event.

Final decisions regarding participation will depend on budgetary capacity, which is expected to be determined at the end of the year following the planning of the upcoming budget period. Montenegro has not participated in the competition as an independent nation since its appearance as part of Serbia & Montenegro in 2006.
