Montenegro Constitutional Court to hold hearing on preschool vaccination mandate

The Constitutional Court of Montenegro has scheduled a public hearing for September 15 at 10:00 AM to evaluate the constitutionality of a legal requirement that mandates vaccination for children attending public and private preschool institutions.

To ensure transparency, the Court will provide a live internet broadcast and allow media outlets to broadcast the proceedings. The hearing will feature a diverse panel of experts, including epidemiologists from the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, representatives from UNICEF and the World Health Organization, and specialists in international law, developmental psychology, and neurobiology.

With support from the European Union and the Council of Europe via the Horizontal Facility program, an international expert will also participate. This expert will provide a comparative analysis of legal measures taken by Council of Europe member states to protect public health and ensure high immunization rates while respecting individual rights and freedoms.
