Montenegro cost of living rising three times faster than wages

Filip Adžić, a member of the GP URA Presidency, stated that official MONSTAT data confirms the cost of living in Montenegro is rising three times faster than wages and pensions.

Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 4.3 percent, while average salaries rose by only 1.46 percent and pensions by 1.45 percent. Adžić highlighted significant increases in specific sectors, noting that food prices rose by 5 percent and transportation costs surged by 11.2 percent.

Adžić argued that economic growth claims are undermined when citizens struggle to cover basic necessities. He called for urgent state intervention to protect living standards through a comprehensive plan involving higher earnings, family support, and price controls on essential goods.
