Montenegro DPS leader Živković backs Đukanović legacy, faces SNP rebuke

DPS president Danijel Živković told a newspaper that the party is fully reformed and will not distance itself from the policies of long‑time leader Milo Đukanović, highlighting achievements such as peace, NATO membership and progress toward EU accession. He said the party will present an economic development programme and measures to curb inflation ahead of next year’s parliamentary elections.

Socialist People’s Party (SNP) official Vuk Stanišić responded, accusing the DPS of a legacy of scandals, clan influence and the decline of Montenegro’s economy. Stanišić argued that genuine reform must include taking responsibility for past corruption, disputed privatizations and the weakening of strategic state enterprises.
