Montenegro Eco-fond signs €1.9 million contracts to boost waste management and green spaces

The Montenegrin Eco-fond signed contracts worth €1.9 million with ten local municipalities and communal enterprises. The agreements, part of three public tenders, aim to improve environmental quality and municipal infrastructure across the country.

Funding is allocated to three priority areas: €400,000 for waste‑removal projects supporting eight users in municipalities such as Zeta, Kolašin, Mojkovac, Berane, Petnjica, Herceg Novi, Andrijevica and Nikšić; €300,000 for designing, planting and maintaining green areas in seven projects covering Pljevlja, Kolašin, Nikšić, Ulcinj, Zeta, Tuzi and Mojkovac; and €1.2 million for purchasing communal equipment for waste collection and processing, benefiting twelve utility operators from Zeta, Danilovgrad, Bar, Cetinje, Kolašin, Berane, Tivtta, Gusinje, Bijelo Polje, Andrijevica, Nikšić and Kotor. Director Draško Boljević highlighted the contracts as a concrete step toward cleaner towns, expanded green spaces and more efficient waste management, directly enhancing residents’ quality of life.
