Montenegro is facing a delay in completing its Central Election Commission (CIK) with less than a year remaining until parliamentary elections. The process has been hindered by five unsuccessful recruitment attempts and the recent resignation of Dragan Koprivica from the NGO sector of the commission responsible for selecting members.

Political representatives have offered differing outlooks on the timeline. Nikola Rakočević of the DPS expects the entire selection process to be finalized by early October.
