The Montenegrin government has expressed support for a parliamentary investigation into the 2006 'Eagle Flight' (Orlov let) operation. The decision follows a proposal submitted by a group of 38 MPs from several ruling parties, including the Albanian Forum, Albanian Alliance, Europe Now Movement, New Serbian Democracy, and Democratic Montenegro.

The investigation aims to gather facts regarding the conduct of state authorities and other entities during the 2006 operation to determine responsibility for actions or omissions, particularly concerning members of the Albanian community. The proposed investigative committee is tasked with submitting a report to the Assembly within 90 days, with a possible 15-day extension.

The 'Eagle Flight' operation took place on September 9, 2006, one day before Montenegro's first parliamentary elections following its independence. During the operation, 17 suspects were arrested on charges of planning terrorist activities in Tuzla and Maleševo. All accused individuals were subsequently convicted and sentenced to prison terms totaling 51 years.
