Montenegro honors soldier Dejan Božović on anniversary of death

Montenegrin officials held a memorial service to honor Junior Corporal Dejan Božović on the anniversary of his death. Božović died a year ago while fighting fires in the Kuča region.

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić, Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović, and Chief of the General Staff Miodrag Vuksanović laid wreaths at a memorial plaque dedicated to the soldier. During the ceremony, Minister Krapović praised Božović’s courage and selflessness, stating that his sacrifice serves as a permanent testament to the values upheld by the Montenegrin Armed Forces. Krapović emphasized that the state has a duty to preserve Božović’s memory as an inspiration for future generations of service members.
