Montenegro imposes road closures and alternating traffic amid races and construction

The Auto‑Moto Association of Montenegro (AMSCG) reports moderate overall traffic with higher vehicle frequency during the day. A mountain car race scheduled for 11–12 July (09:00‑16:00) has led to a full closure of the regional road R‑1 Cetinje‑Kotor (Njeguši‑Bukovica) for all vehicle types. Passenger vehicles and buses on this route will operate on an alternating basis with daily stoppages from 06:00‑08:00, 10:00‑12:00 and 14:00‑20:00, a pattern that will remain in place until 31 July.

Additional restrictions include a total ban on heavy trucks over 3.5 tonnes on the Đurđevića Tara bridge while it is rebuilt, seasonal bans on trucks over 7.5 tonnes on the busiest coastal arterial routes, and special limits for buses, campers and other large vehicles on the regional roads Kotor‑Krstac and Međuvršje‑Lovćen. Ongoing road works affect several regional and magistral sections (Bar‑Kamenički most‑Krute, Čevo‑Riđani, Petnjica‑Bioča, Pljevlja‑Dajevića Han, central Tuzi, and the Vojislavljević Boulevard in Podgorica), prompting further alternating traffic regimes and periodic short‑term closures.
