Montenegro increases military salaries for Air Force and cyber roles

The Montenegrin Ministry of Defense has announced changes to the salary regulations for members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro (VCG) to improve their material status and attract specialized personnel.

The new regulations increase base salaries for Air Force members and introduce additional pay for search and rescue operations in aviation. Furthermore, a special coefficient will be introduced for new roles in cyber operations and artificial intelligence to address personnel shortages in these critical fields.

Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović stated that the goal is to ensure personnel are adequately compensated for the knowledge, responsibility, and risks associated with their service. He emphasized the importance of retaining highly skilled aviation engineers and technicians, particularly as the military plans to operate nine helicopters by 2030.
