Montenegro judo team wins 12 medals at Balkan Cadet Championships in Budva
The Balkan Cadet Judo Championships were held in Budva, Montenegro, with 400 athletes from ten nations competing. The Montenegrin team secured a total of twelve medals – eleven in individual events and a bronze in the team competition after defeating Moldova.
Jovan Radulović captured the sole gold for Montenegro in the under‑90 kg category, beating fellow countryman Tadija Đurović, who took silver. Additional silver medals went to Slavko Prodanović (+90 kg), Vukan Popivoda (‑81 kg) and Vanja Guzina (‑57 kg). Bronze medals were earned by Milan Barović and Vasilij Milaševič (≤50 kg), Nađa Simović (‑40 kg), Nikola Čelebić (‑60 kg), Ognjen Radošević (‑66 kg) and Matija Radović (‑73 kg). Five judokas – Mihailo Burić, Milorad Tadić, Sejla Spahić, Nikola Perović and Martin Bulajić – finished just outside the podium.
Officials including Judo Federation president Jovica Rečević, Sports Directorate director Zoran Jojić, Budva mayor Nikola Jovanović and Balkan Judo Association president Branislav Crnogorac spoke at the opening ceremony. Montenegro will host the European Junior Cup in October and the continental junior championships in Podgorica in September.
